hm. So I've discovered that a blog is more intimidating than I realized. I mean, not as though people are going to religiously read this, but yeah... It's a false security. What makes people feel free to express themselves to everyone remotely interested online (and in a form that doesn't allow for clarification, let cool parts of communication unique to actual conversations, like expression and tone...) ? Hm. There is an appeal to a captive/non-existant listener. Maybe more cathartic than a journal? I guess that brings me to my original thought.
What is this for? I guess the simple answer is so that I can share the amazing ways God is working in my life, how I'm delighting in his creation, and random insights that I find fascinating. Sharing. I can share these thoughts and ideas with whoever wants to "listen" without repeating myself endlessly and/or forcing it down someone's throat.
and I like poetry and quotes.
alot.
so if you return to this, you'll probably get some interesting stuff.
I actually wrote a poem last week. I needed to write a profile for Wheatstone Academy. It was supposed to be creative and original. I brainstormed some rather boring facts about myself... and couldn't think of anything. And, like many late nights gone wrong, I wrote a poem. Not for Wheatstone, but still Wheatstone inspired. Here goes.
Asked To Write About…
Myself.
Rather awkward really
(writing about me).
Here from Seattle,
it’s no surprise that I
adore coffee,
fresh mornings,
rain.
I study education,
and Books
(written years ago)
at Biola U.
I delight in the Creator,
His creation:
bright reds,
oranges,
yellows.
The smell of cinnamon,
suspense,
and smiles.
I’m simply curious
about
God’s world, really
Just please
don’t ask me about
gardening
or astronomy.
I don't like gardening or astronomy. Don't get me wrong. Nature and space are GREAT. but gardening is not. Neither is astronomy. So yeah.
I like writing impromptu poetry.
It's spontaneous and doesn't need to be good. yay!
It's all about how "my eyes perceive the colors that you do not absorb." (Linds. That was for you.)
cheers.
